Need for Speed : Most Wanted – Review

From today’s article, we are going to talk about an old game. In fact Need for Speed : Most Wanted game released in 2005. However the game has an amazing story, basically we can’t find racing genre.

The game considered as the ninth installment of the Need for Speed series and the game is published by EA Games.

Gameplay in Need for Speed : Most Wanted

The game basically centered around the street racing (which is illegal obviously). The game features huge amount of licensed cars which are playable.

Game Modes & Race Types

The game has four modes, Career (Single Player Story), Quick Race, Challenge Series (Various challenges) and Multiplayer. While the career mode offers you an amazing story line, the challenge mode give the player, some serious racing challenges.

As for race types, Need for Speed : Most Wanted features common racing types such as circuits, sprints and drag races. The game introduced two new race types “Tollbooth” (Player need to race through the checkpoints within a given time limit) and “Speedtrap” (4 Player race which has checkpoints with higher speeds).

The Blacklist

The Blacklist is the key feature in the game. There are 15 racers in this list. Each racer has got a bounty. (The list sorted based on the bounty). The player needs to beat all 15 blacklist racers in order to complete the single player campaign.

The player need to complete certain amount of races, obtain a higher bounty and complete certain bounty based challenges (milestones) to challenge a blacklist racer. After defeating the racing events of each blacklist rival, the player has the chance to obtain the rivals car (called pinkslip). (You must try to collect all 15 cars)

Bounties and Pursuits

As the name suggests the player has to involve a lot of (illegal racing events). So the player get’s a higher bounty than the blacklist racers. The bounty can obtained from, completing bounty based milestones and through evading police pursuits.

Evading Police Pursuits plays an important role in the game. The Heat system shows the probability of police attraction to your car. Lower the heat, lower attraction. However if the player keep involving illegal race based things (ramming civilian vehicles, damaging public properties) can potentially increase the Heat.

The Police use various type of traps and tricks to immobilize your car. Such as Roadblocks, Spike traps, Ramming Heavy SUV’s and also the Helicopter. The player need to evade all these and enter the cool down stay to get clear from the pursuers.

The Story of Need for Speed : Most Wanted

The game is sets on the fictional city of ‘Rockport‘. The game begins with the player challenging the number 15th racer in the list named Clarence “Razor” Callahan. During the race Razor cheats and defeats the player. And player losses his BMW M3 GTR car to Razor.

After those events player need to fight back his way into the top of the Blacklist since Razor eventually obtains the top place in the list. With the help of the undercover police agent Mia player wins back his cars thus becoming the most wanted in the Rockport city.

Conclusion

Though it’s an old racing game, the game ensures the player has a greater experience with it’s unique story line. It’s a great game which is a game you should try.
